History of the Club

The Caloosa Dive Club was started in 1970 by a small group of locals that enjoyed diving and spearfishing. At that time, many members owned their own boats and would meet on weekends and raft their boats together and go diving. In those days, the club was small and meetings were held in smaller venues.

The Club Today

Today, we have evolved into a club of over 100 members. We are proud to boast that our members range in age from 8 to 80. Our non-diving members enjoy thge friendships that have been forged through the club. We have new divers and those holding advanced certifications with over 1000 logged dives.

Dive trips are scheduled throughout the year, within the glorious warm waters of Florida and surrounding areas. We stay busy with organized trips to aquariums, canoe trips, dinners and guest speakers. Members have offered dive trips to exotic locales such as the Cayman Islands, Mexico, and Bonaire.

We have our Annual Awards Banquet in October each year, where members are honored for their underwater photography as well as spearfishing talents.
